things I will never understand

Physics, chemistry, advanced calculus- I will never understand them. There are just some things in life that are too complex to wrap your head around. I've gone through twelve years of school and now two years of college, and there are still so many things that blow my mind. So, here are things I will never, ever understand.

why girls get so mad when guys leave the toilet seat up.

I don't know, I just feel like it takes longer to complain to him about leaving it up than to actually put it down yourself.

why its okay to have breakfast for dinner but not dinner for breakfast.
If I want In-N-Out at 8 am I think that I should be able to have In-N-Out at 8 am, right?

why people think college is so easy.
I talk about that in this post.

why girls put make up on to go to the gym.
I get that most girls (including myself) don't like to leave the house without makeup. But to the gym? Really? I don't know about you, but whether I'm wearing make up or not I still look disgusting when I get back from the gym. It's a waste of makeup!

why people abbreviate in texts.
Okay, it was cool in like fourth grade to type "u" for "you" and things like that. I throw in the occasional OMG, but really I hate when people abbreviate in texts. It makes you look dumb. Especially when the word you're abbreviating is short to begin with. Like what's the point of using "2" instead of "to"? Its one extra letter, and you don't seem like an idiot. It's simple.

why people are still confusing "your" and "you're."
I guess this goes along with the one above. We're adults, we should know grammar. Even if you didn't learn it in school, there are plenty of memes out there now that make fun of this idea. My heart hurts a little every time I see someone use the wrong one.

how people can drive for twenty minutes without realizing their turn signal is on.
Self-explanatory.

What're some things you'll never understand?

  3. Hahahah!! YES!! LOL BUT I have to admit...I do get upset when Chris leaves the seat up because I won't realize it and fall in the toilet, so he does his level best to keep it down!

  4. ahaha this made me crack up, these things still annoy me too especially the your and you're like seriously?!

  5. I agree with all of those. Well, maybe not the toilet seat - I just don't want to touch it! Luckily my fiancee was trained by his mom to put it down so I won't have that problem ;)

  6. YES to the makeup at the gym thing! It just sounds so gross and dirty!

  7. Hahaha! I'm with you on most of this list... too funny.

  8. Oh man oh man, this list is spot on! For the amount of time it takes to complain about something, you might as well just fix the situation. I cannot stand it when people don't use correct grammar or abbreviate all the time. It takes me longer to try to decipher what someone wrote! And don't even get me started about drivers on the road, it makes my blood boil.

  9. I'm totally with you on the make-up and hair down at the gym! Why?!? I just don't get it. But.. I'm guilty of being one of those girls who gets peeved when my husband doesn't put the seat down in my bathroom. Here's the deal... he has his own bathroom. Leave the seat up all you want there, but in mine put the dang thing down! I even went as far a putting stickers under the seat that say 'put me down'.

  10. Sometimes I worry if people are judging me at the gym bc I usually go right after work and I still have my makeup on.. You're totally right on the Your vs. You're dilemma. It's not hard at all to understand the difference!!

  11. hahah so funny !! and I am pretty sure we will never know the answers to these questions. It's baffling to be quite honest. Makeup to the gym?! shit I barely wear makeup to go out into the world in general let alone to go to the gym. The toilet seat thing I don't get either, for crying out loud you walk into the bathroom the toilet is facing you so obviously you can see if its up or not. Lol oh the mysteries of the world we live in lol

  12. LOL at all of these! Though the toilet seat one -- it's not so much the SEAT that gets me, it's the lid itself. SO many germs and bacteria spread throughout the bathroom when the lid's left open and the toilet's flushed! *shudder*

  13. Yes, all of these! And I agree about the toilet seat- just do it yourself. I'd be more concerned if he was peeing all over the place.

  14. Can I just first say that I really appreciate your appropriate and correct use of all these memes. As a follow up, the turn signal thing..WTF, its SO annoying lol, loved this!

  15. I wear a tinted moisturizer to the gym because my face is sooo blotchy without it... other than that, i'm a homeless bum when i go!

  16. YES!! YES!! YES!! I love breakfast, but I wish In N Out was on this side of the country.. I go to the gym looking all a fool.

  17. I laughed so hard at these hahah. Especially the abbreviating in texts. On an iPhone at least, it takes a LOT more of an effort to type "2" than "to" and it just makes me upset when people do this haha.

  18. I think the texting thing goes back to the days when everyone had the Nokia brick. It was like Twitter...only a finite amount of characters so every little abbreviation counted. It probably just carried on through all the generations of cell phones. I completely agree about the breakfast/dinner conundrum. I eat whatever I want for my meals. Luckily I married someone who does too so I don't get weird looks when I make a burger for breakfast.

  20. Pretty much this entire list! Although I will admit, I've been guilty of wearing some makeup to the gym once or twice. Occasionally it was because I would go right after work so it was already there. But I did occasionally put on some concealer & waterproof mascara. I got over that pretty quickly though lol.

  21. That pretty much sums me up. I just don't get any of it.

  22. So many things I agree with. But I think it's totally okay to have dinner for breakfast! I grew up having dinner for breakfast. haha Being Asian my parents always make rice and fish or left-over dinner for breakfast.

  23. Oh my goodness! I agree with so many things in this post. I will never understand how people can be so stupid sometimes (just in general...I worry for our generation sometimes).

Anyways, the thought of dinner in the morning makes me nauseous! But that's just me. Who cares what other people eat and when?! I really, really don't get the makeup at the gym thing either. And I honestly want to ignore anyone that texts me in shorthand.

PS - So happy to see we were both in Shane's giveaway! HCXO
