ten things about the holidays!

December 2 is the third Ten Favorite Things link up! I am so thankful for all of you who have been linking up! It grows each month, and I'm so excited to read all of your posts this time! The holiday season is such a fun time of year (my favorite!) and I can't wait to see what you love about it!

Don't forget to grab the button and include it in your posts! If you tweet about the linkup, use the has tag #TenFavoriteThings

But until then, here are my ten favorite things about the holidays!

one Red cups at Starbucks. As cliche and cheesy as that sounds, I just love how festive they are!
I just had my first one this week! It's been too hot up until now!!
two Snow. Now there's no snow where I'm from, and I'm sure I'll regret saying this as soon as I get to Montana, but I love going up north and playing in the snow! I'm also really excited to experience my first white Christmas this year! It's already snowing in Montana..

three The food. Thanksgiving and Christmas means lots and lots of good food, and an excuse to eat my weight in mashed potatoes. Yum! It also gives me an excuse to bake pretty much every day! Christmas morning Handsome and I are totally making chocolate chip pancakes.
four Christmas lights! Nothing makes me happier than driving around town and seeing everyone's festive homes lit up and decorated.
five Crafting. The holidays are the perfect time to try new Pinterest ideas. I'm really excited to make some ornaments and cute decorations that I want to bring to Handsome's house this year.
six Tradition. I'm going to do a whole other post on this one, but I love traditions that surround the holidays. I'm so excited to start new traditions with Handsome this year!!
seven Family. Any excuse to get together with the fam is great, but the holidays is such a good time to really appreciate the time we get to spend with them. Although I won't be spending Christmas with my family this year, I get to spend it with the love of my life and that makes me so happy. I love knowing that soon enough we'll be celebrating Christmas with our own family!
eight Gifts! I mean c'mon, who doesn't love getting presents?! But really, more than I like getting presents, I love giving them. I already have so many ideas for Handsome's gift. It's going to be awesome I can't wait.
I thought I'd share the best gift I've ever gotten. From Handsome. It was right when we started dating, so about a year ago. He made me this box that says "Whats inside is what I care about the most" and on the inside is a heart shaped mirror. He put little stickers, inside jokes, and the lyrics to my favorite songs on the box. Is he the sweetest, or is he the sweetest?! Gosh I love him.
nine No school. I think that's pretty self explanatory. I can't even begin to tell you how nice it'll be to have a month off of school.
ten Saving the best for last (even though I pretty much mentioned it in 1-9) but I am so beyond excited and thankful that I get to spend the holidays with Handsome this year, and hopefully every year from here on out. He has Christmas off of work, and this year will be our first Christmas actually together. We get to make memories, start traditions, and spend time together- which is all so precious to me. I love every minute I get to spend with him, but spending the holidays together will just be that much more special!

PS still taking questions for the Q&A post! Ask Handsome or me anything you want!! :)

  5. Yay! I'm so excited for the link up.. I did a semi mass email to my close group of bloggy bff's after we chatted last night and I told them all about the link up (the due date, what it's about, showed them my Nov post, etc) and they are all excited to get involved. Can't wait! Cooking during the holidays is so much fun-- I'd planned to make some apple pies on a stick for my "traditional" family Thanksgiving but was told tonight that I shouldn't try a new recipe because my Green Bean Casserole and Collards are too good. So I guess that's waht I'm making this year!
