blogging goals

As my blog continues to grow, I've decided that it's time to step my game up. I've been thinking a lot lately about the direction I'm headed with my blog, and I've set some goals for myself in the process.
Endlessly Beloved: Blogging Goals

::post five days a week:: I try to post at least three times a week around here, and I usually do more than that. But the past two weeks, I've been trying to publish a post Monday-Friday and it has been pretty successful so far. So from now on, I'm going to try to consistently post each day of the week and take the weekends off, except for the occasional sponsored post.

::at least one good picture per post:: Well if you haven't heard, I got this nice fancy camera that I absolutely love. I'm making it a goal to have at least one good and pinable picture in every post. Pinterest is a huge source of traffic for me, so I want to utilize it much more efficiently.

::schedule my posts ahead of time:: I get stressed out really easily. I want to have my posts scheduled at least a few days in advance. Ideally, I'd love if I could be an entire week ahead, just so I don't have to stress as much. But that probably won't happen. I also want to have a good amount of drafts written up, so I can pull from there when I need something to publish.

::highlight my sponsors in a unique way:: I'm trying to make my sponsorship posts more fun, so I'm trying to present the bloggers in a creative way. If you haven't seen sponsor mad libs yet, you should definitely check it out. If anyone has a suggestion on a fun way to introduce a sponsor, I'd love some ideas!

::quality, quality, quality:: Some of my posts are shit. I'm the first to admit that. Some of them are really good (or at least I'm proud of them). I want to feel that way about every post. I never want to publish a post that I think isn't worthy of this blog. I work really hard to make this something special, and as I continue to grow, I need to focus on keeping the quality of my posts up.

::grow:: This one applies both for the blog and the design site. I really want to focus on connecting with other bloggers and growing my readership. I'm excited to take on more design clients and sponsors. I'm excited to reach 1,000 followers on Bloglovin (my next big milestone). Seeing how much this blog has grown in the past six months (whoa its been six months already?!) has been amazing and I cannot wait to see where it is after a year!

What're your blogging goals?

  2. Congrats on 1,000 followers in just 6 months! My goal right now is to try and have posts prepared several days ahead, just like you I get so stressed when I don't have them ready, much better when I have some extra drafts to fall back on as well.

  7. couldn't agree with all of this. The reason i hate sponsoring is because it ISNT unique. Everyones is the same and noone really gives a crap when looking at a guest post really...
and i need a nice camera. stat.

  8. I think you're doing a fabulous job so far! Love the creativity in your sponsor posts! Also, You should totes do a post on Pinterest 101. I've read over and over again how it's always people's #1 referral site, and it's something that I still don't really understand and am not quite convinced of yet, cause since I don't have like, tutorials, or recipes, or anything like that on my blog I feel like why would people pin things of mine?? So I'm not quite sure how to use it to my advantage. Just thought I'd throw that out there =)

  9. First of all, I LOVE your mug + your planner + your calendar. Second, your goals are great and really realistic too-- just writing down what you want to do is a great first step! I know you will reach your goals way sooner than you even realize!!

  10. These seem like great goals! And as a new blogger, it's neat to see what more established bloggers are working towards!

  13. Those are great goals! I need to get better at posting 5 days a week and scheduling posts. I too get stressed out easily and don't produce as great of content when it's not well thought out. I'm just hoping to grow some over the next year. Hopefully after my schedule calms down a little I will be able to put more into my blog.

  14. Very good goals! I really want to work on scheduling posts too. I don't like feeling rushed or stressed trying to get it done last minute! I loved your Mad Libs sponsor post.

  17. I need to work on photos!! There is like, no sunlight here (I hate winter!) so it's really hard to take good photos. Thanks for sharing your goals :)

  18. "pinnable" pictures are definitely my weakest point! I'm hoping to improve at that!

  19. I love your goals!!! If I made goals, I'd have one. Grow my blog audience/followers. But that goal list hasn't been made because funds aren't there. Sadly medical debt (one point for cancer) gets most of our money. I can't justify spending money for sponsors and such. And Nick would never agree to it lol. Unfortunately, there's no free way to grow a blog. I mean, it makes sense but you don't get shout outs or people sharing your stuff or adding you to their sidebar without some moolah! One of these days I'll be able to afford to grow my blog. For now, my goal is to stay true to me and blog about what I truly want to blog about.
