how i organize my life

First of all, yes. I got a makeover. I was getting a little tired of the old design. I loved the colors, but I was itching for something new! I also updated my about me and love story pages and I'm loving those. So anyway, if you're looking to makeover your own blog, I'd love to help! Visit my design site here.

Back to business…

Last October, I wrote a post on how I keep my blog organized. Well, I stopped using that stuff about two seconds a few days after I wrote that post. It just wasn't working for me. While the printables are booming on Pinterest, they weren't for me. So, I thought I would do another post on keeping organized, this time for both my blog and school.

I have trouble focusing and keeping track of everything I need to do. If my planner has too much written on it, I get anxious and I miss things. I can't stand my planner being messy and unorganized. How'd I solve this problem? I have like four planners. Logical, right? I actually just have two planners (one for my blog and one for school), a wall calendar, and a notebook. But without those four things, I would be a mess.

school planner #1.

Ew, that page looks gross. But this planner is just a simple (and kind of ugly) planner from Target. Usually, I have it color coated or divided some way by class, just so I can keep everything separate and organized. But this is just where I write my assignments for the week. Whatever homework or reminders I have to do for my classes go in this one.

My school planner has a monthly calendar in it, but I never use that. Instead, I have this cute little wall planner from Target that I got for like 10 bucks. On this one, I only put the big assignments. If I have an essay due, an exam, or a final, it goes on this calendar. I have the big assignments separate from my normal homework because it's easier for me to track this way. I like having one place to look that's clean and organized so I don't forget any of my bigger assignments.

I know I've shared this one before, but please tell me this isn't the cutest planner you've ever seen?! I absolutely love this one from Sugar Paper that I got from Target. This particular planner doesn't have a weekly view, just a monthly one. It's perfect because it's light and pink and gold and perfect. Ugh. Anyway, this one I use to schedule posts, track sponsorships, and remember any important dates for link ups, giveaways, or whatever bloggy stuff is going on. On a good week I even have a whole week of posts scheduled and it looks like this!
organization, target, planner, college, university, school, blog

I've shared this one too, but I love my cute little notebook. I use this one for anything blog related. I write down sponsors, current projects, post ideas, notes, or whatever I need to keep track of! It's perfect and it's literally the cutest.
So, the moral of the story: Target is the shit. Also, I'm crazy and I need a million ways to organize my life.

What do you do to stay organized?

  1. I'm totally obsessive with my organization! I can't wait to have my new office at home so I can go even more nuts. I love my massive full-desk calendar, I have a notebook, and I am going to have a chalkboard wall in my office for tasks. I can't wait. LOVE your notebook, girl!

  5. Target is on point this year with their paper products!! I have that gold notebook, a wall calendar, and a few other blank journals that came in a pack of 3 from there! I love all of them!! As far as organization goes you're light years ahead of me. I just kind of wing it with my blog, hahaha!

  6. I have just a five ruled notebook and I bought removable colored tabs that I write different subjects on like blog stuff, to-do list, movies and books to look up. This way all my lists are together, then I have a dated planner for blog reminders and planning.

  8. Target has the best paper products in the world. I use a similar wall calendar like that for tracking when bills are due & important dates, then I have a weekly/monthly planner that gets used as both blogging & personal. Monthly is for blogging stuff, weekly is for personal. Although I am tempted to just give in & have two separate ones. And then I have a blogging notebook {that one didn't come from target} where I jot down all my post ideas & notes.

  12. I'm loving the planner!! I've been using my iPhone as my planner although it really hasn't been my blog planner. While I did get a little 2014/2015 planner-- my writing is just too darned big. I'm loving your design and I wish you could help me organize my life! :)

  15. I love this post! Mainly because I'm an organizational FREAK! So much so that I've started many organizational blog posts that sit as drafts because I feel the posts themselves look too messy and aren't organized. Crazy? I think so! Maybe I'm an idiot, but I can't find the link to your exact planner on their website! And I LOVE that gold striped notebook! I too have a blogger notebook for this same thing but mine is just a $0.99 composition notebook I got from Walmart lol

  16. Just found your blog and at the perfect time- I'm still trying to get the hang of the blogging thing, and I really need to start writing things in one place instead of randomly jotting notes in my phone! That Sugar Paper calendar is adorable- not even sort of surprised it's from Target! Super excited to be your newest follower :)

  17. I have one, crazy, disorganized planner. I write down my assignments, when I want to do blog posts, what those posts should be about, parties & events, club meetings, and to-do lists...and it's entirely overwhelming. I think I need to adopt the multiple-planner strategy you have here! A Target trip is clearly in order :D

  18. This one is really interesting. Actually I was not used to the method of using a planner during my schooling, but today I am into a profession I have analysed the need and use of it and sought out Nightingale planners as a suitable mark down for my schedules. Your idea is something different , will surely try this out.
